Update on UAE COVID-19 entry requirement effective from 04th September 2021

Dear ILRI Community,

Further to the directive sent from the UAE, please be informed that effective Sat, 04th Sept 2021, Ethiopia has been added to the list of restricted countries by UAE Authorities.

Hence, passengers from ADD with final destination to DXB need to fulfill the following in order to travel:

  1. All passengers entering DXB must present a valid Negative Covid-19 PCR Test certificate issued within 48 hours prior to departure and from an approved health service with a QR code.
  2. UAE Residents only must have GDRFA or ICA approval.
  3. All passengers entering DXB must present a Rapid PCR negative test report conducted at the departure airport within six (6) hours prior to departure, with a QR code.

* Passengers must be advised to bring with them ETB 1,200 which will be the cost for the rapid test at ADD airport.

* All passengers must be advised to come for check-in at 9:00 AM in the morning.

Exemptions for PCR test requirements apply to the following categories:

  1. All UAE nationals arriving from any country to Dubai are not required to conduct a PCR test before boarding a flight to Dubai. They are only required to perform a PCR test on arrival in Dubai; 1st degree non-UAE national accompanying a UAE national family member;
  2. Domestic workers accompanying a UAE national sponsor;
  3. Children of age under 12-years and passengers with moderate to severe disabilities.

Please ensure all passengers are aware of the new requirements and follow through with the new sets of requirements.
