2. New regulations for entry into Germany
As of 30 March 2021 (date of planned entry into Germany) stricter regulations will apply for entry into the Federal Republic of Germany. All passengers from the age of 6 must present a negative Covid-19 test result (PCR, antigen, RT-LAMP, or TMA) at the time of departure. The general requirement to test and provide proof upon departure thus also applies to entry from non-risk and risk areas. The proof of the negative Covid-19 test must not be older than 48 hours at the time of entry and is checked by the airline before departure.
Transit passengers (persons entering Germany for transit purposes only) are exempt from the obligation to test or provide proof.
Please note that the ten-day mandatory quarantine continues to apply for all travelers entering Germany from a risk, high risk, and virus variant area. Also, travelers are required to complete the Digital Entry Application (DEA) or a substitute application before departure. There are only a few exceptions to these rules.
