Introducing Mireille Ferrari

Dear all,

The Livestock CRP management unit is now complete! It’s my pleasure to introduce our new Communications Manager, Mireille Ferrari. Mireille is bringing some great experience and lots of energy and is committed to working with you to make our work and contributions more visible and known more widely. She will be working closely with CKM and the communication specialists embedded in the Programs. And as you can see from her biosketch below, she’s a practicing smallholder livestock keeper! Please join me in welcoming Mireille.

Mireille Ferrari has been a communications specialist since 2002, writing, creating strategies and developing communications products for clients and audiences across the globe. She completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Durham in the UK and went on to study multimedia at the Rhode Island School of Design in the U.S.

Prior to joining ILRI, she was with the World Food Programme Somalia Country Office, communicating on three consecutive emergencies, including in 2017 when WFP and the humanitarian community were able to avert famine. Mireille has worked on project and corporate communications with the Centre for International Forestry Research in Indonesia and with the Asian Development Bank in the Philippines. She was Communications Director at Sayara Strategies in Afghanistan, where she led public information campaigns for USAID, UN agencies, NGOs and government ministries, and is a co-founder and brand creator of the Women’s WorldWide Web, an online crowdfunding platform for projects that support disadvantaged women and girls.

Mireille lives in Nairobi, together with her husband, three kids, a dog, two tortoises and at last count, seven rabbits.

Best,

Thomas F. Randolph
