Leaving ILRI

Dear colleagues

As you many of you know, today is my last working day at ILRI. I will leave Addis Ababa tomorrow and take up my new role as head of communications at CIP in September.

Over the last three years, I have really appreciated the opportunity to contribute to the great work being undertaken at ILRI. The institute’s approach to advocacy is at the cutting edge of research-communications work being undertaken anywhere. The ability of those involved to help put livestock recommendations into United Nations documentation, despite the prevailing perceptions of the sector is a tribute to the dedication and capacity of many of my colleagues in CKM and scientists in other programs.

While I’m eager to take on this new challenge, I certainly will miss ILRI, particularly the commitment, friendship and intelligence of my colleagues. I will always be grateful for the opportunities ILRI has offered me and also, hugely important, the support I have received since my wife became ill.

You will be able to contact me at the same email address from September on.

I wish you all the best in the future.

Warm regards

James
