Dear Colleagues,

Following our initial reorganization of the southern Africa region, in order to strengthen and streamline ILRI’s engagement, management has decided to initiate a new combined Eastern and Southern Africa region, and I am pleased to inform you that Amos Omore will be the new regional representative for this region, beginning 1 September 2018. Amos will continue to operate from ILRI’s country office in Tanzania and during the coming months will work with many colleagues to develop a strategy for the region, congruent with strategies ILRI has in its other three regions (west Africa, south Asia, east and south-east Asia). Siboniso (‘Boni’) Moyo will continue in her role as DG’s representative for Ethiopia and will work closely with Amos in this regard.

Please join me in welcoming Amos to this new role, and in saying a very big thank you to the out-going regional representative for southern Africa, Prof Sikhalazo Dube who continues to work for ILRI as a consultant on specific projects in the southern Africa region.
