Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to introduce to you Albin Hübscher who will join ILRI on Monday 9th July 2018 as Interim Director, Corporate Services. As a member of the ILRI Institution Management Committee (IMC), Albin will be based in Nairobi and will report to me.

Albin has broad international experience in both private and the non-profit sectors. He previously worked for the CGIAR System Organization/System Management Office (former Consortium Office – CGIAR Secretariat) as the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) / Head of Finance – from 2015 until end of May 2018, based in Montpellier, France.

Prior to that, he worked for Centro Internacional de Agricultura Tropical (CIAT) as Deputy Director General, Corporate Services from 2007 –2015, where he was responsible for a team of over 220 staff, including Finance, Treasury, Grants Management, Administration and Campus Management, Information Technology, and initially Human Resources and Legal functions, of a USD 110 million research operation with over 800 employees.

He also worked for Syngenta and its predecessor companies Novartis and Ciba (1975-2007) in various capacities and countries. He started his international career in 1978 in Nairobi with Ciba, and before he joined CIAT in 2007, he was responsible for Seed Business Development in Asia including Merger & Acquisitions (M&A) in China.

Albin will take up his new role at ILRI until we find a permanent replacement for the position.
