Please see below Liaison and Protocol’s Service Level Agreement (SLA). This is for your information and review. If there is any section you do not understand or you do not agree with, kindly get back to me to enable us to discuss/review the relevant section/s.

Liaison and Protocol Unit – SLA

 

This is the service we provide:

 

Processing Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) ID Card i.e. Residence/Work Permit for International Recruited Staff (IRS).

 

 

This is what we need from you in order to provide this service:

 

  • to have induction meeting with the National Liaison Manager
  • hand in your passport at earliest, latest submission must be 10 days before entry visa expires
  • One passport size picture
  • fill, sign and return MOFA registration form
 

 

 

Our Promise:  This is what you can expect from us:

 

√ we secure your residence permit/work permit within 5 working days.

 

 

 

        

 

This is the service we provide:

 

Visa to other countries for staff travelling on business / private IRS travel

 

 

 

This is what we need from you in order to provide this service:

 

  • ten days or more advance notice on intended travel depending on the specific Embassy Turnaround time.
  • comply with the visa requirement of the concerned embassy
  • submit all required documentation in good time
  • OCS print out of Travel Authorization

 

Our Promise:  This is what you can expect from us:

 

√ we file visa application on the morrow

√ will settle visa fee on your behalf

√ will advise on date of returning passport with visa

√ collect passport and deliver within 5 working days of submission (unless specific Embassy Turnaround time is more)

 

 

 

 

This is the service we provide:

 

Process business visa authorizations to secure visas from Ethiopian Embassies abroad / visa on arrival in Ethiopia [for people coming from where there is no Ethiopian Embassy]

 

 

This is what we need from you in order to provide this service:

 

  • 10 days prior notice on travel
  • provide copy of the bio-data page of the traveler’s passport
  • provide resident permit for those applying outside their home country
  • communicate city of departure and preference of application city (for countries that have multiple Ethiopian Embassies)
  • notify date of arrival to and departure from Addis
  • indicate purpose of visit to ILRI

 

 

Our Promise:  This is what you can expect from us:

 

√ visa authorization or visa on arrival, per request will be processed

√ visa authorization or visa on arrival will be scanned and sent to the concerned embassy in 5-10 working days

√ visa authorization or visa on arrival will be processed and copy will be sent to requester in 5-10 working days

 

 

 

                                 

This is the service we provide:

 

Secure duty-free import authorization for IRS personal effects and ILRI/Hosted Institute official consignment

 

 

This is what we need from you in order to provide this service:

 

v For IRS

  • bill of lading for sea shipment or air waybill for air shipment or post office advice for courier packages addressed to the staff C/O ILRI
  • invoice for purchased personal effects
  • valid passport
  • packing list for personal effect shipped from home base

 

v For official consignment

  • bill of lading for sea shipment or air waybill for air shipment or post office advice for packages addressed to the staff C/O ILRI
  • invoice for items to be imported
  • packing list

 

 

Our Promise:  This is what you can expect from us:

 

√ your import authorization will be processed, secured and status communicated to you within 7 working days

 

 

 

                                 

 

This is the service we provide:

 

Import authorization and registration for IRS personal vehicles and ILRI/Hosted Institutes official vehicles

 

 

This is what we need from you in order to provide this service:

 

v For IRS

  • bill of lading /air waybill
  • invoice for purchased or imported vehicle
  • certificate of origin
  • packing list
  • insurance certificate

 

v For official vehicle

  • bill of lading
  • invoice
  • certificate of origin
  • packing list

Our Promise:  This is what you can expect from us:

 

√ duty free import authorization will be processed and secured in 7 working days

√ annual vehicle inspection and sticker issuance will be done in 2 working days

√ special plates and title deed will be issued in 10 working days

 

If you have a problem with any of the above services, this is what you can do …

 

  • discuss the problem with the concerned staff in Liaison Office
  • contact the manager on ext. 2105 discuss and decide on the best possible way forward
  • If you are still not satisfied contact Head of Administration
