Introducing Adeniyi Samuel Adediran – TAAT Livestock Compact Coordinator

Dear colleagues,

It is my pleasure to introduce Adeniyi (Niyi) Samuel Adediran who joined ILRI yesterday as the Coordinator of the TAAT Livestock Compact. Niyi will be based in Addis Ababa, be part of the Impact at Scale team, and will report to me.

Niyi brings with him two decades of work experience at four international agricultural research organizations (including two CGIAR Centers), and has most recently served as Assistant Director for Market Development and Global Access at the at the Global Alliance for Livestock Veterinary Medicines (GALVmed). At GALVmed, Niyi developed, managed and monitored over 15 projects in East, West and South African countries. One of these projects on Newcastle disease control (an area that is incorporated into the TAAT poultry value chain) delivered ~13.5 million doses of vaccine to smallholder village poultry producers, which enhanced production, improved income and nutrition of >300,000 households, of which ~60% are women.

Niyi has degrees in Agriculture from the Obafemi Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello Universities, Nigeria, and a PhD in quantitative genetics from the University of Tasmania, Australia.

Please join me in welcoming him to the ILRI and TAAT communities.

Best wishes,

Iddo
