Dear Colleagues,

I am very pleased to inform you that, after an extensive search, Appolinaire has been appointed Director of the Centre for Tropical Livestock Genetics and Health (CTLGH).

The CTLGH is a joint Centre created by ILRI, the University of Edinburgh and the Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) with facilities at all three institutions. (ILRI, at the Roslin Institute of the University of Edinburgh and SRUC). This appointment is offered jointly by the three institutions which created the CTLGH, with the Director’s home base at the at the University of Edinburgh. In that regard, Appolinaire’s appointment is: Professor and Chair, Tropical Agriculture and Sustainable Development at the Roslin Institute / the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh.

Appolinaire will relinquish his current position as Director of the BecA-ILRI Hub in April this year and a search for his successor is underway.

During his tenure as Director of the BecA-ILRI Hub, Appolinaire provided outstanding leadership and dynamism, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank him most sincerely for his service.

Appolinaire will be moving to a new position, but by virtue of ILRI’s relationship with the CTLGH, he will continue to work closely with the BecA-ILRI Hub and with ILRI more broadly.

Please join me in congratulating Appolinaire on this appointment, thanking him for his outstanding service at the BecA-ILRI Hub, and wishing him much success as he takes up this new challenge.

With best wishes,

Jimmy
