Dear colleagues
Recently we helped ILRI Board members set up email subscriptions so they can ‘follow’ ILRI news and updates via email. This might also be something useful for you, so I am sending a similar message with the key information you may need to sign up.
All ILRI project and program websites have ‘subscribe’ options allowing you to get email updates for your interests. You can also subscribe to get alerts from CGSpace, where we publish all ILRI reports, publications, videos, etc.
The system we use for this is called feedburner and it allows us to offer email subscriptions to all of our web content.
To get an overall picture of what ILRI is publishing and communicating, you can subscribe to three general email alerts:
- ILRI blog posts and news updates: brings you an email pointing you to every blog post and update published across all of ILRI.
- Latest ILRI research outputs: brings you an email pointing you to additions to CGSpace, products of ILRI staff and projects
- ILRI announcements: an email listing new internal announcements, including Iain’s monthly update (this was set up in 2015 to minimize ‘all staff’ emails).
How it works
- To subscribe to the different alerts, you click on the various links below.
- ILRI blog posts and news updates: https://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=ilriblogposts
- Latest ILRI research outputs: https://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=ilrioutputs
- ILRI announcements: http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=ilriannouncements
- Each link will open in your browser and ask you to enter your email address as well as a password to confirm you are a real person (and not a robot)
- After you have done this, you will receive a confirmation email from feedburner with the subject line ‘Activate your Email Subscription to:” the name of the alert’ (this is to ensure that it is really you subscribing and not someone else signing you up – which is illegal. You must decide and opt in). You should open this message and click on the link in the message. This will open a window in your browser confirming your subscription.
Once you have confirmed the subscription, you should then start receiving emails (a couple each week is normal). Clicking on links in these messages will open the different items.
Should you ever wish to unsubscribe, there is an option at the bottom of the email messages you receive.
