CIMMYT-Ethiopia is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Ayalneh Tilahun as a Research Associate for CIMMYT-Ethiopia/GMP-Maize Seed Systems, based in Addis Ababa, effective December 15th, 2015.

Ayalneh’s qualifications include BSc degree in Plant Production and Dryland Farming (Hawassa University, 2003), MSc degree in Plant Breeding (Haramaya University, 2009) and BA degree in Business Administration (Addis Ababa University, 2013  (distance Program), respectively.

Ayalneh proved to be highly experienced, an adaptable, enthusiastic, person working in any environment and in multi-cultural setting as: Plant Breeder/Research Associate in Cereal Breeding (Maize, Wheat, Barley, Tef) in [Oromia Agricultural Research Institute at Sinana Agricultural Research Center, Bale]; Lecturer, Seed Science and Technology, Integrated Pest Management, Agricultural Entomology at (Menschen fur Menschen Agro Technical and Technology College, Harar); and as Plant Breeder/Researcher in Cereal Breeding (Wheat, Barley, Millet, Tef) in [South Agricultural Research Institute at Hawassa Agricultural Research Center, Hawassa].

As for the Institutional services, Ayalneh served as Cereal Case Team Leader and Center Director atSinana Agricultural Research Center, and National Barley Research Coordinator for Oromia Agricultural Research Institute. His contribution in cereal technology generation case team for the release of six wheat varieties, one barley variety and approved adaptability test of Maize and Tef varieties is significant in technology innovation. Ayalneh Published five journals on peer-reviewed international Journal Website on different crops (Maize, Wheat, Barley and Tef).
