Dear Colleagues,

CIMMYT-Ethiopia is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mesfin Kebede as a Research Associate for the CIMMYT’s project “Taking Maize Agronomy to Scale in Africa (TAMASA)” under CIMMYT-Sustainable Intensification Program (SIP).

Mesfin holds MSc degree in Soil Science from Hawassa University (2009-2011) and BSc degree in Plant Science from Haramaya University (1996-2000). He had vast work experience at Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR)

in which he served as National Case Team Coordinator of Management of Problematic Soils Case Team including Acid Soil Management, Vertisols Management and Saline Soil Management; National Project Coordinator for Management of Vertisols for sustainable production and productivity in highland Ethiopia; Center Soil and Water Research Process Representative at Debre Zeit Agricultural Research Center of EIAR. Also, he had work experience in non-governmental offices, out of which he served as Senior Technical Expert for Soil Health and Fertility Team at Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA).

Mesfin is married and blessed with a daughter. He joined CIMMYT effective, September 15th 2015.
