Photo on your email message

Your email client, Outlook, supports having a small picture to emails you send to (your pictures) or receive from (sender’s picture) along with the display name.

This helps making a face to a name in your emails.  In a geographically dispersed teams or large organizations like ILRI it’s great to be able to put a face to a name for people you have never met or don’t frequently have face time with.

This is also a great feature to help ensure a person is who they say they are (avoid email scammers), and to guard against personal insecurity by helping you identify new people at meetings.

If you would like to have your picture displayed next to your name in the emails you send, please:

  1. If you are on campus,  go to \\172.27.1.9\profilepic  and put your picture in your respective unit/institute folder until Friday 16th October 2015. Please rename the picture files in the form “firstname lastname” for easy and quick upload by ICT team.
  2. If you are away (stationed at the regions or on long mission), send us your picture to the service desk email below.

Since the thumbnail is a very small portion of the message, try to pick a picture that covers the face as much as possible for people to recognize you easily.

If you face any difficulty, please contact  ILRIETICTservicedesk@cgiar.org
