As you may have noticed, the construction of our new genebank building is progressing at a good pace and on schedule. We are now entering into the second phase of the construction which involves dismantling the structure around the genebank’s cold rooms, and beginning construction around and over them. This part of the new building will extend out to the current road to accommodate additional new cold rooms.
In preparation for this stage of construction, we will unavoidably have to remove some trees and bushes in front of the building. These trees will be removed some time this week. We will also extend the construction fence out onto the road a bit, reducing a few of the parking spaces in front of the building. We ask staff to avoid parking in front of the east end of the genebank so that the fence can be erected and the trees removed.
