Colleagues, I’m pleased to introduce to you Sam Martin Odhiambo.
Martin joined ILRI on 24th August 2015 as a graduate research fellow under the Livelihoods, Gender and Impact (LGI) program. Contributing to a project whose central objective is gender mainstreaming in dairy value chains, Martin’s work will focus on assessing women’s participation and inclusion in the various nodes of the dairy value chain in Kenya and Uganda. His results will inform the process of mainstreaming gender in the assessment of dairy producer organisations sustainability in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, for EADD project.
Martin holds a bachelors in Gender, Women and Development Studies from Egerton University and is on his second year of Master of Arts in Gender Women and Development Studies, in the same University. His research interests and expertise are in areas of Gender mainstreaming, Gender audits and Gender policy design. He has worked with governmental and civil society organizations on Gender Equality and development of policies. He has provided thoughts, leadership and policy advice on change related outcomes, delivering impactful programmes through partnership building and engagements at local, regional and international levels.
