CIMMYT-Ethiopia new staff – Stuart Irvine-Brown

CIMMYT-Ethiopia is glad to introduce Stuart Irvine-Brown who joined International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) as a Post-Doctoral Researcher within the SIMLESA Project under CIMMYT-Global Conservation Agriculture Program (GCAP), effective March 4th, 2015. Stuart has multiple qualifications such as Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in Environmental and Production Horticulture (UQ), Graduate Certificate in International Ecological Agriculture (Uni Kassel), Graduate Diploma in Environmental Management specializing in Natural Resource Management (UQ), Masters in Agricultural Science examining Integrated Weed Management (UQ), and a PhD in Soil Science researching plant biomass inputs and soil organic carbon turnover with respect to land rehabilitation (UQ). Stuart Irvine-Brown is a scientific agricultural and environmental professional with more than a decade of experience in managing agricultural and environmental issues and regulatory compliance with State and Federal legislation of Australia. Major experience has encompassed both public and private sector roles focused on providing practical and ecologically sustainable outcomes related to industry projects within the field of environmental and agricultural land management. The aim and direction of previous education and employment focuses towards innovating and instigating truly sustainable development outcomes at a local to global scales.
