Update on OCS implementation at ILRI: OCS is ON, but where exactly is it at and where is it headed?

New supervisor of the OCS implementation, Misja Brandenburg is happy to inform you about the current status and plans with OCS.

Remember what OCS is?

OCS is rescheduled for launch in August 2015 at ILRI

OCS is rescheduled for launch in August 2015 at ILRI

One Corporate System. A CGIAR-wide initiative to implement the same business system (software) for managing human resources, financial management, procurement, project management etc. OCS will replace many of the current systems in place and make processes more efficient. The sofware running behind OCS is Agresso.

OCS implementation plans are still very much alive, and we are fully on track to start with the time registration module in July and go live with basic OCS functionality in August (Yes, 2015J). This means that, as of then, all travel advances, declaration, payments and time registration, will go through the OCS systems to make those processes more efficient (faster) and more transparent.

Please see OCS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page on our OCS site for more details about the implementation plan, the impact it will have and on you and answers to burning questions like:

  • What is OCS, Agresso, Unit 4 and Gcon4?
  • Why do we need OCS?
  • What will it mean for me in practice?
  • Will it actually happen and really work?
  • Who is currently involved and when will I be?

It’s all in the FAQ page.

From now on, you will receive a monthly update from me each first week of the month to share the progress and challenges and to keep you informed about upcoming trainings and functionality updates

Find out more about OCS generally at: http://ilri-ocs.wikispaces.com/

And you can always ask your questions and share your suggestions to: askILRIOCS@cgiar.org or start a discussion at the bottom of the on the FAQ page.
