Danilo Pezo, who is our Country Representative in Uganda has expressed his wish to retire and we have been planning for his succession. I am pleased to inform you that from 1 May 2015 Ben Lukuyu will be re-locating from Nairobi to Kampala. He will provide research input to our program on pig value chains in Uganda as well as continue to work on a small number of projects in other countries. In addition Ben will assume responsibility as Country Representative in Uganda.

Emily Ouma will become the Value Chain Coordinator for the pig value chain work under the Livestock and Fish CRP.

I want to express my sincere thanks to Danilo, on behalf of us all, for the sterling work he has done since joining ILRI in establishing the ILRI Office in Kampala, driving forward the pig program in Uganda and growing the program in the country. We will be able to say farewell to Danilo properly at a later date.
