Introducing Deborah Wyburn – Instructional design / capacity development specialist

CapDev unit would like to introduce Dr. Deborah Wyburn, who joined ILRI on Monday 19 January as Instructional Design / Capacity Development Specialist.

Deborah joins ILRI after 20 years of working in international development. An Australian by birth, Deborah started her career as a science teacher before branching out into computing and the private sector. In 2010, Deborah completed a PhD in Education with an emphasis on eLearning. Her field research was conducted in Sri Lanka where she and her husband now maintain a small animal refuge for stray dogs and cats. Prior to joining ILRI, Deborah worked for four years in Bangladesh bringing ICT into 18,000 secondary school classrooms across the country.

Debra will be based in Addis with an extended induction period in Nairobi. Her main focus will be to enhance ILRI’s contribution to the capacity development and learning aspects within CRP Humidtropics, CRP Livestock and Fish, and IBLI. She will report to Iddo Dror (Head of Capacity Development).

Please join CapDev team in welcoming Deborah to ILRI and to support her as she takes up a new role at ILRI.
