During the week of December 22–28, 2014 the following activities will take place at ILRI:

- December 18-26: Dr Berhanu Gebremedhin and Dereje Legesse will travel to Mekelle to give training on Market Oriented Extension and Value Chain Development for about 65 staff of regional and district staff of the Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Development during December 19-23. Dr Berhanu will then travel to Axum University to give a Key note presentation at the Axum University annual research conference to be held December 25-26.
- Thursday, 25 December: International Christmas Day and ILRI Addis will remain closed.
- Saturday December 27 from 10:00 a.m.: There will be ILRI Children’s Christmas party at Zebu Club. Parents who would like to give gifts to their children should bring package labeled with the child’s name written in block letters and handover to the housing office before 4:30pm before or on and before Friday December 26, 2014. Gift after this date will not be accepted and please note that gifts more than 250 birr is not advisable. If you are not Zebu Club member and would like your child to be part of this event, you should pay birr 50 per child and bring your gift before December 26, 2014.
- December 22: IWMI organizes official closing ceremony for “The Challenge Program on Water and Food (CPWF)-N2 Project (Integrated Rainwater Management Strategies-Technologies and Policies)” in Diga.

- December 25–26: Aziz Karimov and Thinh Nguyen will organize Extrapolate Workshop in Dien Bien province, Northwest Vietnam.
- From 22 December, IRRI campus and ILRI office in Los Baños will be closed for the annual end-of-year holiday, returning on 5 January 2015.
