Dear Colleagues,

This announcement is to keep you informed on some of new projects planned to construct and renovate inside ILRI Addis campus.

• New gymnasium: In an effort to develop the facilities and services offered in line with increasing customer demands, it is decided to undertake construction of new gymnasium project by engaging different consultants on 1^st June 2014. Currently the design of this new G+1 gym is finalized and contractors are buying tender documents for construction. The construction of the work is expected to be started in early 2015.
• Zebu expansion/refurbishment: As many of you recognized, the Zebu cafe is in need of complete modernization and therefore it was decided to commence the refurbishment design work on November 10, 2014. The preliminary design is completed and it is expected to finalize the detail design of all discipline on February 2015.
• Gene bank lab and office block: As you all know the forages gene bank is an agency based within ILRI Addis campus. The currently facility which was built over 25 years ago needs expansion for its purpose due to size and functionality. Therefore, ILRI Addis is now engaged with different consultant for the design of this gene bank laboratory and office block on June 1^st, 2014. Currently detail design of different discipline is under-work and expected to be finalize on February 2015.
• Hostel Interior Design: This is another project planned to create well-being for people who use hostels in their spaces; comfort, security, privacy, satisfaction, and stimulation into their environments. Therefore, ILRI Addis is now engaged with architects for the interior design of hostels.
• Campus Master Plan: This project is one of strategic facility plan which is planned to establish to guide on the implementation of a ten year strategic development plan for ILRI Addis campus. Currently the consultants are preparing survey data and designing of the master plan which is expected to be finalized end of this year.
