This post is to keep you informed on water projects which are occurred, happening right now and planned for the future in ILRI Addis campus.

The water supply and sanitation system of the campus has served more than its service period and therefore, the unit hired water consultancy service since March 1st 2013, to portray the results and findings of detailed assessment of existing water supply and sanitation conditions in order to provide reliable, safe, efficient water supply & sanitation system, and creating livable & workable green environment in the campus.

Therefore, construction of water supply distribution system network, water storage tank, deep water well source drilling, storm water distribution system network and French drain are upgraded & started functioning since then.

Currently construction of waste water stabilization pond (oxidation Pond) is under construction as part of upgrading and rehabilitating of the system plan and expected to be finalized and start functioning by February 2015.

The time schedule for implementing the remaining aforementioned water projects: House to house water supply system connection, water harvesting pond, water source treatment unit, elevated water storage tank, pumping station, sprinkler system, fire hydrant system network, and wastewater distribution network construction which all will be carried latest by the year 2015.
