World Health Reports that cockroaches are implicated in the spread of 33 kind of bacteria including E.coli and Salmonella, six parasitic worms and seven other human pathogens. Pest Control therefore forms an important part of ensuring health in the workplace.
The quarterly pest control treatment and fumigation of ILRI Nairobi Campus will be done from the 27th of November 2014 to the 29th of November 2014. This is following a survey of all pest problem areas and pest incident reports.
The exercise involves little disruption as the pest control personnel bait rodents, apply pest repellants and fumigate all areas. Please note that all occupied areas and offices will only be fumigated on Saturday of the week as said. Please plan not to be in the offices on the said Saturday to allow effective pest control.
