In an effort to reduce the number of email announcements you receive and to improve ILRI’s internal communications, CKM (Communications and Knowledge Management) and ICT teams are planning to implement the following changes:

• Restrictions will be placed on the use of ILRI- and campus-wide distribution lists from 1st October 2014.*
• Announcements intended for ILRI & campus staff should now be sent by email to the following address: ilriannouncements@cgiar.org

Messages may be of any kind – professional, personal (births, deaths, marriages), event announcements, team updates, region updates etc. They will be

1. Moderated quickly for formatting purposes and posted to: http://announcements.ilri.org; PLEASE BOOKMARK THIS PAGE NOW.
2. Tagged to enable quick filtering, via links. The following tags will be used : Official or Unofficial, Kenya or Ethiopia. **
3. Auto-posted to ILRInet and Yammer. If desired, you can sign up to receive an email alert.

Note that the web site is public, though not indexed by Google. Accordingly any sensitive announcements should still be sent by email via one of the authorized users indicated below.

For the month of October CKM staff will email links to new announcements. Thereafter you should check the web page periodically (once a day at least). It is up to you to manage the information you want to receive, however your feedback if you have any is welcome (to the ICT Helpdesk).
