Solomon Gizaw  has been appointed as Livestock Expert in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project effective 1 March 2014.  Solomon holds PhD in Animal Breeding and Genetics from Wageningen University, the Netherlands, MSc in Animal Genetics and Breeding from National Dairy Research Institute, Deemed University, Karnal, India and BSc in Agriculture (Animal Science) from Alemaya University of Agriculture, Ethiopia.Prior to this, he was working as Postdoctoral Fellow in ILRI, Ethiopia.

Dereje Getu has been appointed as Research Officer  in the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) effective 1 March 2014.  Dereje holds Advanced MSc in Development Policy Globalization and Management from Development University of Antwerp, Antwerp, Belgium, MSc in Economics from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia and BA in Economics from Arbaminch University, Ethiopia.Before joining IFPRI, he was working as Research Officer at Horn of Africa Regional Environment Center and Network, Ethiopia.  

 Senait Mekbebe has been appointed as Accountant in the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) effective 1 March 2014.  Senait holds MBA in Business Administration from Sikkim Manipal University and BA in Accounting from Jimma University, Ethiopia. Prior to this, she was working as Senior Accountant at International Development Enterprise (IDE), Ethiopia.

Dereje Abreham has been appointed as Driver in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project at Hawassa effective 1 March 2014.  Dereje holds a certificate in secondary school education. Previously, he was working as Driver and Facilitator at GIZ International Services Ethiopia.

Dessalegn Alemu has been appointed as Kitchen Steward in Housing, Catering and Conference Services effective 1 March 2014.  Dessalegn holds a certificate in Front Office Management from Catering and Tourism Institute, Ethiopia.  Prior to this, he was working as a Waiting Person and Bell Boy at Extreme Hotel, Ethiopia.  

Yadesa Mekonnen has been appointed as Housing/Front Office Assistant in Housing, Catering and Conference Services effective 19 March 2014.  Yadesa holds Diploma in Marketing and Sales Management from St. Mary’s University, Ethiopia and a certificate in Food and Beverage from Catering and Tourism Institute.  Prior to this appointment, he was working as a Night Manager at Yaya Village, Ethiopia.

  Birhan Abdulkadir has been appointed as Field Research Officer/Data Management Specialist in N2Africa under Animal Science and Sustainable Productivity Program (ASSP) effective 19 March 2014.  Birhan holds MSc in Agriculture (Agronomy) from Hawassa University, Ethiopia and BSc in Agriculture (Plant Sciences) from Haramaya University, Ethiopia.Previously, he was working as Consultant (Agronomist) in CIMMYT-Ethiopia.

Tamiru Amanu has been appointed as Business Development Officer in N2Africa under Animal Science and Sustainable Productivity Program (ASSP) effective 1 April 2014.  Tamiru holds MSc in Agricultural Economics from Haramaya University, Ethiopia and BSc in Agricultural Resources Economics from Debub University, Ethiopia. Prior to this, he was working as Agricultural Economics Researcher at CASCAPE Project at Haramaya University, Ethiopia.  

Tesfaye Adnew has been appointed as Driver in the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) at Debre Berhan effective 9 April 2014.  Tesfaye holds a certificate in secondary school education.Before joining ICARDA, he was working as Driver at Debre Berhan Agricultural Research Center, Ethiopia.

Amenti Chali has been appointed as Regional Expert-Irrigated Agriculture in LIVES project at Oromia region effective 17 April 2014.   Amenti holds MSc in Agronomy from Hawassa University, Ethiopia and BSc in Plant Science from Haramaya University, Ethiopia. Before joining ILRI, he was working as Agronomy and Irrigation Officer at International Development Enterprise.

Eskender Berhanu has been appointed as Driver in LIVES project at Amhara region effective 16 April 2014.  Eskender holds a Diploma in Auto mechanics from Alpha Higher Institute of Distance Studies.Previously, he was working as a driver at Plan International–Ethiopia.

Musie Girmay has been appointed as Driver in LIVES project at Tigray region effective 16 April 2014.  Musie holds a certificate in secondary school education.   Before joining ILRI, he was working as a Driver at Axum University, Ethiopia.

Ermias Mulugeta has been appointed as Accounting Officer/Manager – General Accounts in Finance effective 21 April 2014.   Ermias holds BA in Accounting from Addis Ababa University School of Commerce, Diploma in Accounting from Addis Ababa University School of Commerce, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), student (part qualified).  Before joining ILRI, he was working as an Accounts Manager in the Horn Economic & Social Policy Institute (HESPI), Ethiopia.

Kemal Mohammed has been appointed as driver in Africa RISING Project at Bale Robe site effective 21 April 2014.  Kemal underwent training in Auto Mechanics from Necat Technical School.  Prior to this, he was working as a Driver at Agri-Service Ethiopia.

Samuel Taddese has been appointed as ICT Customer Services Officer in ICT Unit effective 21 April 2014.  Samuel holds BSc in Information System from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia and is prospective MSc graduate in Information Science from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. Before joining ILRI, he was working as an IT Officer at GOAL Ethiopia.
