ILRI NRS Addis & hosted institutes appointments: January-February 2014

Mulunesh Tsegaye

Mulunesh Tsegaye has been appointed as Gender and Agriculture Specialist in the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) – Ethiopia effective 1 January 2014.  Mulunesh holds Master of Public Health  degree from Addis Continental Institute of Public Health, Ethiopia, MA degree in Gender Studies from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia and BA degree in Business Management from Jimma University, Ethiopia.  Before she joined CIMMYT-Ethiopia, she was working as Senior Communication Officer – Gender at Marie Stopes International Ethiopia.

Berhan Ali

Berhan Ali has been appointed as Human Resources Helpdesk Assistant in Human Resources effective 1st January 2014.  Berhan holds Diploma in Administrative Office and Secretarial Technology from New Life Community College, Ethiopia. She was working as HR Helpdesk Assistant in Human Resources on temporary basis.

Belayneh Admassu

 

Belayneh Admassu has been appointed as National Project Coordinator in the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) – Ethiopia effective 1 January 2014.  Belayneh holds a PhD in Agriculture (Resistance Breeding) from University of Giessen, Germany, MSc in Phytopathology from Hanover University, Germany and BSc in Agriculture (Plant Sciences) from Alemaya University of Agriculture, Ethiopia.  Before he joined ICARDA-Ethiopia, he was working as Researcher and National Coordinator for Agricultural Biotechnology Research Programme, Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR), Holetta Research Center, Ethiopia.             

Manayeh Kassahun

Manayeh Kassahun has been appointed as Driver in the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) Ethiopia effective 3 January 2014.  Manayeh holds a certificate in secondary school education.  Before he joined ICRISAT-Ethiopia, he was working as Driver at Food for the Hungry, Ethiopia.

Gizachew Legesse

Gizachew Legesse has been appointed as Research Technician IV (Resilient Dryland System) in the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) Ethiopia effective 14 January 2014.  Gizachew holds MSc in GIS and Remote Sensing from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia and BSc degree in Plant Production and Dryland Farming from Debub University, Hawassa College of Agriculture, Hawassa, Ethiopia.  Before he joined ICRISAT-Ethiopia, he was working as Associate Researcher II at the Ethiopia Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR), Melkassa, Ethiopia.

Ermias Alemu

Ermias Alemu has been appointed as Research Technician III (Resilient Dryland System) in the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) Ethiopia effective 21 January 2014.  Ermias holds BSc degree in Forestry from Debub University, Wondo Genet College of Forestry, Ethiopia.  Before he joined ICRISAT-Ethiopia, he was working as Associate Researcher and Representative of Forestry Research Process at the Ethiopia Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR).

Berhane Belete

Berhane Belete has been appointed as Technical Assistant in Feed and Forages, Biosciences effective 1 February 2014.  Berhane holds a Diploma in General Agriculture from Ambo University in 2004. Before joining ILRI, she was working as Field Supervisor in Coffee Plantation Development Enterprise, Ethiopia.

Hirut Mulatu

Hirut Mulatu has been appointed as Kitchen Steward in the ILRI Housing, Catering and Conference Services effective 1 February 2014.  Hirut completed high school and attended a training on Food Preparation at Global Cookery and Catering School.  She was previously working as Kitchen Steward in ILRI, Catering department on temporary basis. 

Simeneh Akalu

Simeneh Akalu has been appointed as Kitchen Steward in Housing, Catering and Conference Services effective 1 February 2014.  Simeneh holds a high school certificate. He was working as Kitchen Steward in Catering department on temporary basis.

Mehari Berhanehiwot

Mehari Berhanhiwot has been appointed as Waiting Person in Housing, Catering and Conference Services effective 1 February 2014.  Mehari completed high school and attended training on Food and Beverage Service and Sales course at Hope Hotel Consultancy and Training Center.  He was working as Waiting Person in the ILRI, Catering department on temporary basis.

 Andualem Dender

Andualem Dendir has been appointed as Waiting Person in Zebu Club effective 1 February 2014.  Andualem completed high school and attended training on Food, Beverage Service and Sales at Hope Hotel Consultancy and Training Center.  He was working as Waiting Person in the ILRI Zebu Club on temporary basis.

Robel Legesse

Robel Legesse has been appointed as Waiting Person in Zebu Club effective 1 February 2014.  Robel completed high school and attended training on Food, Beverage Service and Sales at Hope Hotel Consultancy and Training Center.  He was working as Waiting Person in the Zebu Club on temporary basis.

Ephrem Seifu

Ephrem Seyfu has been appointed as Waiting Person in Housing, Catering and Conference Services effective 1 February 2014.  Ephrem completed high school and attended a training on Food and Beverage Service at LM International College.  He was working as Waiting Person in the ILRI Catering department on temporary basis.

Teklu Kidane

Teklu Kidane has been appointed as Agribusiness Advisor in ILRI-LED Feed Seed Project effective 1 February 2014.  Teklu holds Master of Business Leadership (MBL) from University of South Africa in 2013, BA in Management and Public Administration from Addis Ababa University.  Before he joined ILRI, he was working as Consultant at Chemonics International, Ethiopia.

Mamusha Lemma

Mamusha Lemma has been appointed as Capacity Development and Innovation Expert in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project effective 5 February 2014. Mamusha holds a PhD magna cum laude in Agricultural Sciences (Agricultural Knowledge Systems) from Hohenheim University, Germany, MA in Rural Social Development from Reading University, UK and Bachelor of Education in English from Kotebe College of Teacher Education, Ethiopia.  Before joining ILRI, he was working as Senior Extension Technical Expert in Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA), Ethiopia.
