RAKEB HABTE has been appointed as the ICT Customer Services Helpdesk Coordinator/Administrator in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) unit in Corporate Services Division in ILRI from 1 June, 2013.  Rakeb holds BSc degree in Computer Engineering from MicroLink Information Technology College. Prior to this appointment, She was working as an ICT Customer Support Assistant in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), ILRI on temporary basis.

MESFIN TEFERA has been appointed as a Zonal Coordinator in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project at South Wollo effective 1 June, 2013 under the Animal sciences for sustainable productivity program (ASSP)  Mesfin holds MSc in Forestry Management from Sofia University and Diploma in General Agriculture from Jimma Agricultural College. Before joining ILRI, he was working as Program Director in Agri- Service Ethiopia.

 BIRHANU BIAZIN has been appointed as Regional Expert – Irrigated Agriculture in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project at Southern Nation, Nationalities and People’s Region (SNNPR) effective 19 June, 2013wthin the ASSP program.  Birhanu holds PhD in Rainwater Harvesting for Dryland Agriculture in the Rift Valley of Ethiopia from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, MSc Soil and Water Conservation from Wageningen University in the Netherlands and BSc degree in Forestry Wondo Genet College of Forestry. Before joining ILRI he worked as an Assistant Professor in Hawassa University – Wondo Genet College of Forestry and Natural Resources.

 GEMEDA DUGUMA has been appointed as a Zonal Coordinator in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project at Jimma effective 25 June 2013.  Dr. Gemeda holds PhD in Animal Breeding and Genetics from University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), MSc degree in Animal Science from University of Stellenbosch and BSc degree in Animal Science from Alemaya University. Before joining ILRI he worked as Senior Researcher in Oromia Agricultural Research Institute – Bako Agricultural Research Center.

BEKELE MEKONNEN has been appointed as a Driver in International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) effective 19 July 2013. Bekele has Certificate in Auto Mechanics from Woizero Siheen College of Technical & Vocational Education and Training. Before joining ICARDA he worked as Driver in Amhara National Regional State – South Wollo Civil Service.

TADIWOS ZEWDIE has been appointed as a Research Assistant IV in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project effective 25 July 2013.  Tadios holds MSc degree in Agricultural Economics and Agriculture from Haramaya University. Before joining ILRI, he worked as Head of Research and Quality Assessment Office in St. Marry University College, College of Open & Distance Learning.

EPHREM GENNA has been appointed as an Accountant in International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) effective 15 July, 2013. Ephrem holds BA degree in Accounting from Addis Ababa University and Diploma in Accounting from Addis Ababa University School of Commerce. Prior to joining IFDC he worked as Finance Officer in Water Aid.

ELIAS DAMTEW has been appointed as a Research Technician IV – Innovation in Agriculture Systems to Enhance Rainwater Management in Animal Sciences for Sustainable Productivity (ASSP) effective 1 August, 2013.  Elias holds MSc degree in Rural Development and Agricultural Extension (Agricultural Information Communication Management) from Haramaya University and BSc degree in Animal Science from Alemaya University. Before joining ILRI he worked as Animal Husbandry and Feed Development Expert in Yeka Sub City Administration Chief Executive Office – Man Power Administration Supportive Core Process.

THOMAS GETAHUN has been appointed as a Reservation and Events Coordinator in Housing, Catering and Conference Services under Corporate Services Division effective 1 August, 2013. Thomas holds BA Degree in Foreign Language and Literature (English) from Addis Ababa University and Diploma in English Language from Kotebe College of Teacher Education. Before joining ILR,I he worked as Front Desk Manager at the Hilton, Addis Ababa.

DEREJE LEGESSE has been appointed as an Agribusiness Expert in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project effective 2 August, 2013 under ASSP.  Dereje holds MSc degree in Microfinance from State University of Bergamo, Italy and BA degree in Economics from Addis Ababa University. Before joining ILRI he worked as Finance & Business Development Adviser in Fair and Sustainable Ethiopia.

 

YIGZAW DESSALEGN has been appointed as a Regional Coordinator – Irrigated Agriculture in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project effective 9 August, 2013 under ASSP.  Yigzaw holds PhD in Plant Breeding from University of the Free State, Republic of South Africa, MSc degree in Horticulture Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University, India and BSc degree in Plant Science from Alemaya University. Before joining ILRI he worked as Deputy Director General of Amhara Region Agricultural Research Institute.

WAKO GOBU has been appointed as a Research Assistant III in Index Based Livestock Insurance (IBLI) – under Animal Science for Sustainable Productivity (ASSP) Programme effective 15 August 2013. Wako holds BA Degree in Sociology from Dilla University. Prior to this appointment, he worked as Research Assistant in ILRI Index Based Livestock Insurance (IBLI) on temporary basis.

 

ERMIYAS MEKONNEN has been appointed as a Programme Management Officer (PMO) in Feed and Forages, Bioscience Program effective 1 September, 2013.  Ermiyas is Certified Accountant, he has completed ACCA Professional level, holds BA degree in Management and Diploma in Accounting from Addis Ababa University. Before joining ILRI he worked as a Finance and Administrative Manager in University Research Company.

 GERBABA GUTETA has been appointed as a Driver in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project, ASSP program effective 1 September, 2013.  Gerbaba has completed secondary school and he has 4^th grade driving license and certificate in Basic Automecanics. Before joining ILRI he worked as a Driver in Ethiopian Institute of Biodiversity.

 

MEKURIA LEMMA has been promoted as a Procurement Officer in Supply Chain Unit under Corporate Services Division effective 1 September, 2013.  Mekuria is currently a prospect graduate of MSc in Computer Science from HiLCoE School of Computer Science and Technology, he holds BSc degree in Computer Science from HiLCoE School of Computer Science & Technology and Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management from Addis Ababa University School of Commerce. Before he promoted, he worked as a Stores Supervisor in ILRI Store Unit.

 

ABRHALEY GEBRELIBANOS has been appointed as a Research Assistant IV in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project effective 3 September 2013.  Abrhaley holds MSc degree in Rural Development & Agricultural Extensions from Haramaya University and BSc degree in Agricultural Extension from Alemaya University. Before joining ILRI he worked as Rural Development and Agricultural Extension Researcher in Mekelle University.

 

BIZUAYEHU ADERA has been appointed as a Driver in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project effective 4 September 2013.  Bizuayehu has completed secondary school and he has 3^rd grade driving license. Before joining LIVES Project he worked as a Driver in temporary basis in same Project.

 

SAMRAWIT GEZAHEGN has been appointed as an ICT Customer Services Officer in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) unit in Corporate Services Division in ILRI effective 5 September 2013.  Samrawit holds BSc degree in Computer Science from Gonder University. Before joining ILRI, she worked as an Assistant Computer and Network Expert in Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR).

NEBIAT KASSA has been appointed as a Program Management Officer in Animal Sciences for Sustainable Productivity Program effective 9 September 2013.  Nebiat holds MSc degree in Project Management from Sikkim Manipal University, BSc degree in Management Information Systems and Diploma in Accounting from Unity University. Before joining ILRI she worked as an Accountant in ILRI Finance Ethiopia on temporary basis and as Program Assistant in CIP Ethiopia.

BERHANU ADMASSU has been appointed as a Driver in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project effective 9 September 2013.  Berhanu has 3^rd grade driving license and certificate in Driver Mechanics. Before joining LIVES Project he worked as a Driver in temporary basis in LIVES Project.

ZEWDU ASSEFA has been appointed as a Driver in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project effective 16 September 2013.  Zewdu has completed secondary school and he has 4^th grade driving license. Before joining LIVES Project he worked as a Driver in temporary basis in same Project.

BEKELE WONDIMU has been appointed as a Driver in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project effective 16 September 2013.  Bekele has completed secondary school and he has 5^th grade driving license and certificate in Auto Mechanics Technician. Before joining ILRI he worked as a Driver – Store Keeper in Comitato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo dei Popoli (CISP).

 

HABTEMARIAM ASSEFA has been appointed as a Research Assistant IV in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project effective 19 July 2013 under ASSP. Habtemariam holds MA degree in Regional and Local Development Studies from Addis Ababa University and BSc Degree in Agricultural Extension from Alemaya University. Before joining ILRI he worked as Research Extension Researcher in Amhara Regional Agricultural Research Institute.

KALEB SHIFERAW has been appointed as a Research Officer in Livestock and Irrigation Value-Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) Project effective 19 July, 2013 under ASSP.  Kaleb holds MSc degree in Economics (Under Economics Policy Analysis Stream) and BA Degree in Economics from Addis Ababa University. Before joining ILRI he worked as Research Officer in BDS Center for Development Research.

BENYAM BEFIRDU has been appointed as a Country Finance Manager in Finance under Corporate Services Division effective 12 August, 2013. Benyam successfully completed his examination for the association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Certified Manager from the Institute of Certified Professional Managers of USA in collaboration with James Madison University and BA Degree in Accounting from Addis Ababa University. Before joining ILRI he worked as General Accounts Manager at Save the Children International.

 
TEMESGEN ALENE has been appointed as an African RISING Research Site Coordinator in Africa RISING Project effective 9 September 2013. Temesgen holds MSc degree in Plant Breeding and BSc degree in Plant Science from Haramaya University. Before joining ILRI he worked as Associate Researcher II in Debrebirhan Agricultural Research Center.

ADDISU ASFAW has been appointed as an African RISING Research Site Coordinator in Africa RISING Project effective 9 September 2013. Addisu holds MSc degree in Environmental Science from Ambo University and Bachelor of Education degree in Geography from Alemaya University. Before joining ILRI he worked as an Academic Dean in Medda Walabu University.
