Getting an ILRI business card

In the second half of 2012, the KMIS and PA teams at ILRI got together to update and revamp a wide range of ILRI information products, materials, designs, logo,  and other elements of our overall visual identity and branding.  This was partly driven by new CGIAR branding guidelines; we also wanted to give our work a refresh.

One of the biggest change areas is to ILRI business cards.  We changed the designs, we are also adapting the process to request these. The aim is to ensure consistency and standardization across all of ILRI.

What do the changes look like?

Management Committee approved new designs and principles in December 2012. In principle, eligible staff can have an ILRI business card. Staff with very strong affiliations with a CGIAR research program will have this recognized on their card. Staff of BecA also have a different design. See models here:  ILRI  ; BecA  ; CRP (L&F model). We expect very few people will have the CRP variants (designated focal points, staff with full time assignments to a CRP, etc).

How to request business cards?

To request your new business cards, go to https://ilrinet.ilri.cgiar.org/information-systems/order-your-business-card and enter your usual ILRI login credentials. Then apply for your business card on  check your information, edit this information if needed, select the number of cards you want and give us the cost code for printing.

Note that some content is optional – your mobile phone number, your skype address.  We will enter the standard physical address that goes with the office location option you select.

Since ILRI’s structure is currently being changed, please do not submit a request if you are certain your job title will change.

After you submit your request, your card will be prepared using the standard template. Depending on your location, the design will be sent to Addis Ababa, Delhi or Nairobi to be printed. KMIS and PA handle the design process, procurement will handle the actual printing. We aim to have your cards on your desk 3 weeks after you send in your order.

If you have any queries or encounter any problems, contact Daniel Haile-Michael for any technical/web issues; Apollo Habtamu (Addis) for any design queries.

We have tested this process within the communications group and envisage a smooth process. If you are not sure whether or not you are entitled to a card, please check with your supervisor. We will double check all requests for CRP co-branding with the appropriate focal points.
